REGULAR POTTERY CLASSES IN MALLORCA
Since 1986, at Call Vermell we have passed down the art and craft of ceramics through classes taught without interruption. We are a ceramic studio with a long-standing trajectory, where experience and respect, for both the material and the craft, are at the heart of our philosophy.

In Call Vermell’s regular ceramics classes, we offer two options so you can choose the one that best fits your pace:

5-class package, allowing you to attend whenever it suits you, with prior booking and subject to availability. 170€
KIDS LESSONS (from OCT 7th)
Wednesdays. from 5 PM to 6 PM. 95€ monthly
We offer weekly classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with two time slots to choose from:
- Morning: 10 h – 12 h
- Afternoon: 17 h – 19 h
Firing and use of clay
- Firing is included in the monthly fee for standard-sized ( 20x 30 cm max. ) pieces made during the classes.
- Pieces usually go through two firings: a first bisque firing and a second firing after glazing.
- The firing temperature depends on the type of clay: low-fire up to approximately 1,080 °C and high-fire between 1,240 and 1,250 °C.
- Large-format pieces, especially thick or bulky ones, may require specific firing conditions and may incur an additional fee, which will be communicated beforehand.
- We inspect all pieces before firing. Pieces with structural problems, inappropriate thickness, cracks, incorrect drying, or construction issues may be discarded and recycled before entering the kiln.
- This inspection is also part of our commitment to the responsible and sustainable use of clay: we prefer to reclaim and recycle a piece rather than use energy and resources to fire a piece that is unlikely to produce a good result.
- Firings take place once the pieces are completely dry and when the kiln is available. For this reason, we cannot guarantee a specific firing or collection date.
- Ceramics is a process influenced by many factors, and cracks, warping, colour variations or breakage may occur during drying and firing. Although we work carefully to minimise these risks, we cannot guarantee the final result of every piece.

3 d'OCTUBRE — Taller de Pit firing amb Maria Ramis.
El pit firing és una de les tècniques de cocció ceràmica més antigues que existeixen. Consisteix a coure les peces dins un clot a terra (“pit” en anglès), o en un recipient metàl·lic similar, envoltades de materials combustibles com serradures, fusta, fulles, algues, sal, coure o altres elements orgànics i minerals.
Durant la combustió, el fum, les cendres i les reaccions químiques deixen marques imprevisibles sobre la superfície de les peces: negres fumats, vermells, metàl·lics, taques i degradats únics.
- Sessió 1 - 2h A convenir durant el mes de Juny: Creació de les peces en gres.
- Sessió 2 - 2h A convenir durant el mes de Setembre: Brunyit de les peces.
- Sessió 3 - 3 d'octubre (11 h a 14 h): Cocció amb la tècnica Pit firing.

Tècnica japonesa que combina argiles de diferents colors per crear patrons integrats dins la mateixa peça.
- 31 OCT - Sessió 1 - 3 h Teoria i història del Nerikomi, és farà una peça.
- 07 NOV- Sessió 2 - 2 h Rascat de les peces.
